Volkswagen. Cars can now be controlled with Siri thanks to a new functionality launched by the car manufacturer for its customers.

Volkswagen. The German car manufacturer announced today the launch of new functions for the VW Car-Net application available to users with iPhone phones. More precisely, they can use the personal assistant Siri, and the shortcuts in iOS 12, to control their Volkswagen cars using only their voice, something that is really great, especially since it is done remotely.

Volkswagen. The German company has implemented shortcuts for Siri that allow locking and unlocking the car using the central locking system, or checking the available autonomy. Moreover, users of electric Volkswagen cars can also check the amount of energy in the battery, or activate the car's alarm.

Volkswagen. Using Siri, the owners of this type of car can also start or stop charging the car's battery, start defrosting the windows, heat the car, or locate it. Volkswagen charges a monthly subscription for using the Car-Net system, but so do many other car manufacturers with their own systems.

Volkswagen. If the functionality seems trivial to you, then imagine that while you are getting ready to go to work, to the city, etc., you can say a few words, and when you get to the car, it is loaded, hot or cold. Everything is part of the future that some have the opportunity to live, and others, including the Romanians, will see it only in a few decades, when these technologies will reach us, from Volkswagen or other manufacturers.
