Samsung. Here's WHEN THE FIRST 5G Phone is Launched

Samsung. The Korean company made a very interesting announcement about the first 5G phone during the conference it had before CES 2019 started.

Samsung. The largest phone manufacturer on the planet spoke at CES 2019 about its intentions to launch a 5G phone for customers around the world, and the news is very good. As we had already heard from various rumors, those from Samsung are going to launch their first 5G phone in the course of 2019 for certain markets, with South Korea going to have the products first, but they will arrive at least in the US somewhere in the summer.

Samsung. The company has not revealed which phone model it will offer with built-in 5G connectivity, but at least one US carrier has confirmed that it will start selling a Korean phone that has built-in 5G. A lot of people expect that Samsung GALAXY S10 to be the first Samsung phone model that has integrated 5G connectivity, and this will happen in South Korea, but in other countries there could be other models offered.

Samsung. Here's WHEN THE FIRST 5G Phone is Launched

Samsung. If the first 5G phone model will be launched in the spring in South Korea, in the US we could only see such a product from the Koreans sometime in the summer, and in Europe it is unlikely that we will see one until the fall, or 2020. For now, Samsung, and the other mobile phone manufacturers, focus on the countries where there are 5G networks already launched, or prepared for launch very soon, and in Europe there is not much of this for now.

Speaking at its packed press conference at the Mandalay Bay South Convention Center today in Las Vegas, Samsung's President and CEO HS Kim came out 5G guns blazing, stating that "we're so excited to see what 5G will do in 2019 and beyond", that 5G "is here because of our leadership", and that "the protection of user information and privacy are paramount" to its 5G vision.

Samsung. In Romania, we cannot expect to enjoy 5G earlier than the end of this year, or maybe even next year, and this is because the licenses for the network frequencies will not take place until the fall. After that, it remains for the operators to actually build the 5G networks in Romania, and Samsung, and the other manufacturers, will offer support for our country only after the networks that we can use mobile phones are also active.
