Google Maps. Constantly changing, the online map platform has today a very interesting modification implemented by Google, all with the idea of competing much better with Yelp. More precisely, soon the Google Maps application will show its users including the most popular dishes from the restaurants that people are going to visit, all through the section where the information about a certain location present in the map platform is listed.

At the moment, the application has a special section where the menus of the restaurants listed in the platform are displayed, there is information about the food that is served, but sometimes also about the prices charged. Now Google Maps has tested a function that collects from users the pictures taken of the food ordered in restaurants, they are analyzed, and then the most popular dishes in that location are displayed.

At the moment, the application displays the pictures published by users from that location, so you can see the dishes served there, but everything will be organized in a new section called "Popular". You can see above how this new section of Google Maps is designed, everything being arranged in such a way that users can access the information they are interested in as easily as possible.

Considering that services like Yelp have been displaying this kind of information for some time, it was expected that Google would follow their example and start displaying something similar to make its platform much more useful. Thanks to this information, users can discover very quickly and easily what kinds of food they should try in a location they reached using Google Maps, and there is a lot of interest in services of this kind.
Google Maps. Unfortunately, in Romania for now there is no such detailed information for the locations, not even the menu section, so we will have to wait until everything reaches us.
