RCS & RDS. With millions of customers in Romania and several other countries in Europe, the telecommunications group made a very important announcement for them, and it must be respected by everyone, regardless of which country they use the services from. More precisely, we are talking about a very important message regarding fraud, some of the clients of RCS & RDS facing various types of fraud attempts over time, unfortunately.
RCS & RDS. Because some of the clients had such big problems, the company decided to publish a message to warn people about the dangers that can be exposed by the people trying to deceive them. In some cases, these fraud attempts do not only target RCS & RDS accounts, but are made to find out information about bank accounts, or other confidential data, and even large sums of money can be stolen.
RCS & RDS. CAREFUL! IMPORTANT message for ALL Customers
RCS & RDS. Customers who receive phone calls, SMS, or emails from people claiming to work for the telecommunications operator should be extremely vigilant, because those people could actually be criminals. Customers should not be fooled by phone calls telling them that they have won prizes from RCS & RDS, and in which they are asked to provide their personal data, not only their address, but also their full name, CNP, date of birth, bulletin series, etc.
RCS & RDS. Many of the data requested by these people are never requested by any company representative, and they can be used to falsify documents, steal money from bank accounts, hack social media accounts, and more. Considering how big the problems were for some of the clients, those from RCS & RDS made the following recommendations for all clients from Romania, but also from other countries:
- Ensure that you have indeed entered a competition with prizes offered by RCS & RDS;
- Ask for more details about the contest/event/campaign behind which you could have won money or any other prize that requires you to pay an advance;
- Do not communicate confidential personal information (such as CNP, series and bulletin number,
- Do not make bank payments to beneficiaries you only know over the phone;
- If you identify an attempt at fraud/cheating, please contact the Police authorities.
