SERIOUS iPhone Problem Revealed by Google

A serious problem with phones iPhone was revealed by the company Google, and this endangers quite a few users of Apple products. More precisely, the engineers who are part of the team Project Zero of Google have discovered a vulnerability that can force iPhones to crash intermittently.

Apple was notified a few dozen days ago about this serious problem of iPhone phones, it being blocked starting with iOS 12.3, released in May. The problem is related to the Messages and iMessage application, Apple has known about it since April, and iPhones with versions older than iOS 12.3 are still vulnerable.

The problem does not only affect iPhones, but also Macs, a simple message sent to these products leads to a lock and restart of the operating system. The big problem is that things don't return to normal on the iPhone after restarting the device, the only solution being a complete deletion of the data on it.

Apple realized in time how serious the problem is, and how quickly it must be solved, so that iPhones with iOS 12.3 are safe. Here's what Google engineers say about the problem:

"On a Mac, this causes agent to crash and respawn, but on an iPhone, this code is in Springboard. Receiving this message will cause Springboard to crash and respawn repeatedly, causing the UI not to be displayed and the phone to stop responding to input. This condition survives a hard reset, and causes the phone to be unusable as soon as it is unlocked. The only way I could find to fix the phone is to reboot into recovery mode and do a restore. This causes the data on the device to be lost though.”
