Planet Mars. THE BIG PROBLEM of the First Travels with People

Planet Mars. A very big problem of the first human journeys was revealed today, here's what needs to be solved before sending astronauts.

Planet Mars. A huge problem has appeared for the first trips that will be made to the planet, and this puts into question, for now, the possibility of sending people to the celestial body. We are talking about a mission in which the European Union and Russia collaborate to send a spacecraft to the planet Mars, a big problem appearing with the parachute that would be used for landing in conditions where the human crew is not killed.

Planet Mars. The EU and Russia wanted to send their own shuttle to the celestial body next year, but it seems that the problems with opening its parachute could delay the plans by two years. The EU and Russia have worked on this project for 10 years, with the aim of sending a series of robots there to look for possible signs of life, the first part of the mission being partially successful in 2016, when a ship reached the planet's atmosphere , the second being unfortunately destroyed.

Planet Mars. THE BIG PROBLEM of the First Parachute Travels
Explanation of the system for opening the parachute of the robot that will be sent to the planet Mars.

Planet Mars. In 2020, a robot should have arrived to drill into the surface of the celestial body to look for evidence of the existence of life there, but it is possible that 2022 will be the year in which the robot will arrive there. The EU and Russia want to solve the problem of the robot's parachute so that it does not hit the surface of Mars at high speed, as happened with the spacecraft sent in 2016, but the tests are not going very well.

Planet Mars. You can see in the image above how the parachute that would support this smooth landing on the surface of the planet was thought, but it is hard to say if things will go like this or not. The EU and Russia are trying to fix the problems before next year, in order to be able to go ahead with the launch of the shuttles to the planet Mars, but if they fail to do that, then the plans will be postponed to 2022.

Planet Mars. In the meantime, those from NASA are also working on their own missions that are meant to take various shuttles to the celestial body, but it remains to be seen to what extent this will be possible.
