iOS and Android function that makes your life MUCH WORSE

iOS si Android they had a special function implemented that, theoretically, was thought to protect the eyes and improve sleep, but unfortunately its effect on people is exactly the opposite. We are talking about the Night Mode function that iOS and Android have implemented, with different names, but with a very similar mode of operation, some of the users using it constantly in the phones that have the iOS and Android operating systems every day.

A study done by the University of Manchester concluded that using Night Mode to change the colors of the screen to have a yellowish tint does not improve sleep at night. The idea behind these functions for iOS and Android was that the color temperature of the phone screens should be a warm, yellowish one, instead of the cold, blue one, all because these warmer colors would help less damage to the eyes in daily use, especially at night.

The University of Manchester discovered with its study that the use of these systems forces the brain to be more active due to the fact that the emitted light suggests that it would be day, and not night, when these systems are activated. Everything is based on the analysis of some guinea pigs, so we are not talking about tests done on human subjects, so for now the conclusions reached by the researchers are not 100% certain, and cannot be considered to be reliable yet.

"Contrary to popular belief, blue light may not be as disruptive to our sleep patterns as we first thought - according to scientists at the University of Manchester. According to the team, using dim, cooler lights, lights in the evening and warmer lights during the day may be more beneficial to our health."

Even so, if it turns out through further studies that the Night Mode functions in iOS and Android do not bring benefits for users, and only make sleep worse, then Apple and Google will have a lot of explaining to do. Many people use these systems with the idea of making their sleep better, and if you use them, maybe it would be good to try to deactivate them to see if something changes for the better in terms of your sleep.
