Milky way it is the galaxy we are all part of, and researchers have discovered a very strange shape right in the middle of it, and this after many years of monitoring the area, without discovering anything. The image below was recorded by an instrument called GISMO, it formed the picture based on observations taken at various wavelengths, and thus it was possible to create a graphic representation of the way the universe looks.
Milky way it contains in its center a very dense gathering of cold clouds of dust and gases, and some of the stars that exist in our universe, including the Sun, would have formed from them. The researchers say that the central area of the Milky Way is an enigmatic one, where many cosmic objects circulate, they hit at very high speeds, and from here some of the dust clouds that were the basis for the formation of many current stars resulted.
Milky Way: STRANGE Shape Discovered in the Center of Our Galaxy
Milky way the image shows a strange shape that resembles that of a lollipop, but it looks like a crutch, and of course an explanation for this shape has not been presented by astronomers. On the other hand, for the image to be created, the Milky Way was analyzed by both GISMO and ESA's Herschel satellite, data recorded by both being combined to create the final image.
"The galactic center is an enigmatic region with extreme conditions where the velocity is higher and objects frequently collide with each other. GISMO gives us the ability to observe 2 millimeter wavelength microwaves on a large scale, combined with an angular resolution that perfectly matches the size of the galactic center features we are interested in. Such detailed and large-scale observations have never been made before.”
Milky way had many revelations made in 2019, including the most important of all, an image from inside a black hole, something that so far has not been achieved by anyone. For 2020, many revelations are announced for the Milky Way, especially as a first video from inside the black hole in the center of the galaxy is to be published by researchers, and it is currently being prepared for publication in its final form.
