WhatsApp AFFECTED by one of the most SERIOUS PROBLEMS on the Internet

WhatsApp was affected by one of the most serious problems of the Internet, here is how serious the situation was for the social media platform.

WhatsApp problems

WhatsApp is the biggest social media platform at the moment, and being so big, it is also vulnerable to many problems faced by many other companies around the world. According to a study by a company specialized in VPN services, WhatsApp was in 2019 the most affected online platform by unavailability caused by connectivity problems between various internet service providers.

In 2019, WhatsApp had a total of 6236 hours of unavailability in various countries around the world, i.e. a total of about 260 days, so almost 9 months, which is extremely long for a service that is offered online. We are talking here about an amount for all the countries where WhatsApp is currently available, not about an unavailability that affects everyone, and the amount should not be surprising if we look at the countries affected.

WhatsApp AFFECTED by one of the most SERIOUS PROBLEMS on the Internet

WhatsApp has had the biggest problems in countries in Africa and the Middle East, where the platform is regularly blocked to prevent the spread of information and the organization of citizens for riots. Various countries in these regions have accumulated hundreds of hours of unavailability for WhatsApp throughout 2019, and thus reached a total of over 6000 hours, which of course puts things into perspective at a global level.

WhatsApp was unavailable for several hours on various days in 2019 and people in the civilized world were extremely upset, not knowing that others have the platform blocked for days, or weeks, by governments. Imagine what it would be like if WhatsApp was blocked for about 2/3 weeks in Romania, and you couldn't talk to anyone about anything, or if Facebook was in the same situation, and you will find out how people live in other areas of the world .

WhatsApp can't really do anything when its platform is blocked by various governments around the world, so in 2020 we will probably see a similar number of hours of unavailability accumulated.
