Facebook: 300 million people's data published online

Facebook data 300 million people online

Facebook is again going through a problematic situation after the data of over 300 million people from the social network were published online by hackers who had access to them, and the security of that American platform does not seem to be a priority.

Facebook left information about each person's user account identifier, phone number, and the person's full name at the disposal of hackers, so many people can make an immediate connection between their account and their real identity.

Facebook had two databases with the data of 300 million users discovered since December by an IT security expert, they were apparently made by hackers from Vietnam, but access was free for anyone.

The databases were uploaded in 2020 to another server, with another 42 million accounts added, this being attacked by other hackers, who deleted the databases, publishing in their place a message to secure them, Facebook seeming to be inert in the whole situation.

In 2019, Facebook went through many similar situations, in total the data of over 1 billion people were exposed on the internet, the company making various promises to improve data protection, but all without any real good effect, in the end.
