DIGI Romania: What it HIDES in a Very Unusual Way from Customers

DIGI Romania unusually hides something important from the customers in the country, here's what it hasn't revealed until now, and how much it matters.

DIGI Romania hides

DIGI Romania is one of the largest telecommunications operators in Romania at the moment, having almost 10 million customers in our country alone, and many millions in several other European countries. As you already know very well for some time, DIGI Romania also launched a 5G telecommunications network last year for those interested, and it is currently the most extensive in the whole country, which of course is a surprise.

DIGI Romania has more locations with 5G connectivity than any other operator in our country, and this gives it a very big advantage, but for a short time for now, all because of the lack of an auction for 5G frequencies. Although DIGI Romania has launched the 5G network for some time, and although it provides details about the internet traffic that customers benefit from, it still does not have listed details about the speeds that they can achieve when using it.

DIGI Romania: What it HIDES in a Very Unusual Way from Customers

DIGI Romania it does not specify its internet speed for the 5G network, although Vodafone does, and they say that their customers should reach 500 Mbps, and Orange does the same, with speeds of 1.2 Gbps. In the tests carried out on the day of the launch of the 5G network of those from DIGI Romania, phones outside, near a station, reached between 550 Mbps and 600 Mbps, so in buildings the speeds would be much lower, probably halved, but even so, it would be much more than what is offered now.

DIGI Romania specifies on the page regarding the coverage of its networks and information regarding the internet speeds that customers can achieve, except for those for 5G, although there is a map with 5G coverage. Why DIGI Romania does not want to specify either there, or on the page dedicated to the 5G service, information about the speeds that can be reached, is difficult to understand, but also to guess, since in the tests the speeds reached were good.

DIGI Romania it could still offer speeds in the 5G network that Orange and Vodafone customers now achieve in 4G+, i.e. over 150 Mbps in homes, and over 200 Mbps outside, i.e. fast Wi-Fi network speeds.
