Facebook wants to radically improve access to the Internet in Africa in order to have a place to bring new users to the network, so it decided to build a new underwater cable in partnership with some international companies.

Facebook will build this cable over a distance of 37.000 kilometers, the goal being to interconnect 23 countries from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, all for its benefit in an attempt to continue to register increases in the number of users.

Facebook is collaborating with Orange, Vodafone, China Mobile and MTN to create this underwater cable, and Alcatel is going to build it, the whole process is going to take several years, so we won't see the results too soon.
