Google is waiting for a very important decision from the European Union, the American company has been in this process for some time, and this is because it made the brave decision to buy Fitbit, and the European Commission is investigating everything.

Google could avoid a four-month anti-competitive investigation if it promises not to use Fitbit company data for its platforms through which it displays ads on websites around the world at the moment.

Google said it will allow Fitbit users to delete their data from its servers if they want, so it won't be used for advertising, and it has until July 13 to confirm to the European Commission that it will not use the data for advertising.

The European Commission has already investigated the possible consequences of the acquisition of Fitbit by Google, and how the European market could be affected, without banning it, so it is only waiting for the promise that the data will not be used for other purposes.

“The wearables space is very crowded and we believe that the combination of Google and Fitbit's hardware efforts will increase competition in this sector, benefiting consumers and making the next generation of devices better and more affordable. Throughout this process, we've been clear about our commitment not to use Fitbit health and wellness data for Google ads and our responsibility to give people choice and control over their data."
