Raed Arafat is at the center of a very important warning coming today from the Romanian Government, which through the Strategic Communication Group informs us about the fact that the name of the head of the DSU is being used in a disinformation campaign with fake news.
Raed Arafat's name is used in an email that is sent to Romanians from a domain that closely resembles that of the Romanian Government, and in that email is included a message asking DSPs to report the number of infections and deaths with Coronavirus.
"The Strategic Communication Group draws the media's attention to a false message, attributed to the Secretary of State Raed Arafat and sent to the Public Health Directorates in the country.
The message is sent from the email address ********, an address that does not belong to any government institution and that uses a similar but partial sequence of letters that make up the Internet domain reserved for the Government.
The text is designed to give the impression that Public Health Directorates are being asked to report the number of infections and deaths on a discretionary basis.
The message is false and we appeal to the media of good faith not to popularize this type of messages created specifically to induce the idea that the figures reported publicly are not real."
