Ministry of Health: warning regarding the police state and compliance with the rules

The Ministry of Health, through Minister Nelu Tataru, warns that Romania must not become a police state, and that Romanians must respect the rules because it is essential that the number of new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus decrease as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Health does not want the state of emergency to be imposed, but Nelu Tataru said yesterday that if people absolutely want to disobey the rules for it to be imposed, then they will be pleased as the number of new cases of infection will grows uncontrollably.

The Ministry of Health did not say when the state of emergency could be established, but Raed Arafat said that between August 1 and 3, the number of daily cases necessary to fulfill the conditions for its establishment could be reached, and that is between August 1 and 3, i.e. next week.

"I hope we don't turn into a police state, but the population must understand that we are going through a difficult time.

The next two weeks will be difficult. We had a period of two weeks with a legislative vacuum in which the same people refused hospitalization, refused isolation, and until the moment those who are positive do not treat their disease, they will continue to transmit it.

Then we will have growth. If we manage to impose, according to the law, hospitalization, isolation, treatment of those existing in hospitals, then we will limit this transmission."
