The Government of Romania, through Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, announced that any local community can be quarantined at any time if the number of cases of Coronavirus will be high enough to impose such a measure, it has already been applied in the case of two localities.
The Romanian government quarantines these localities based on requests from the County Committees for Emergency Situations, DSU being the institution that imposes this measure, and in Arges there are already 12 localities monitored to be quarantined by the Romanian authorities.
"It is a quarantine procedure based on the assessment made by the County Committee for Emergency Situations, with the approval of the INSP. By order of the commander of the action, the head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, it can be decided to quarantine a locality, a village, a commune, a neighborhood, an area or even a region, if it is a very large spread of the virus.
When necessary, we will take the decision to quarantine any local community where there is a wide spread of the virus, firstly to protect the neighboring areas and secondly to take measures among the local community to stop the spread of the virus."
