DIGI Mobile she was forced to block one of the very big changes for Romania that she was working on until now, and all because of an extremely important decision that was not really under her control. More precisely, those from DIGI Mobil were forced, first of all, by the current context in which the Huawei company finds itself, to give up the expansion of the 5G network in Romania, and secondly, probably also by the Corona virus pandemic that is holding the 5G auction in place.
DIGI Mobile is not the only operator that stopped the expansion of its 5G network, Telekom avoiding to do one from the very beginning, because of the constant attacks that are directed against those from Huawei. However, whether we are talking about the fact that Huawei will have its 5G equipment banned in Romania, or that the 5G auction is postponed, the basic reason is the same, Huawei, because in both cases it is about problems with the company's equipment, and DIGI Mobil used enough in its 5G network.
DIGI Mobil: The decision that BLOCKED a BIG Change in Romania
DIGI Mobile has given up expanding its 5G network in Romania since April, and we are soon approaching 4 months of stagnation for a network that would have changed a lot in terms of the experience of its customers. If we are honest, DIGI Mobil has a very weak 4G network, with the lowest speeds among the 4 big telecommunications operators in Romania, so the 5G network could have offered customers a huge upgrade on the connectivity side.
DIGI Mobile still has the most extensive 5G network in Romania, which of course was not easy to achieve in a country where there is nothing clear regarding the new frequencies for these networks. Even so, the people from DIGI Mobil took a risk, launched the largest 5G network, but much more is needed to substantially change for the better the experience enjoyed by its customers from all over Romania, but the authorities i keep things locked now.
DIGI Mobile will definitely invest in the expansion of the 5G network in the future after the Romanian authorities decide on what they want to do with Huawei, and will finally organize the auction for the 5G frequencies.
