Telekom: GREAT announcement, what has changed for many customers

Telekom is at the center of a great news for millions of customers from all over Romania, here is what has changed for the better for them, and how much it is quoting.

telekom improvement

Telekom is one of the largest telecommunications operators in Romania, with millions of customers throughout the country, and for some of them came a great news that few hoped to hear at the moment. ANCOM published updated information on the average fixed internet speeds in Romania the other day, and for Telekom customers the news is as good as possible, at least according to the authorities.

Telekom managed to substantially increase its average fixed internet speeds in Romania, at least in the reports made by ANCOM, and this in just one year, among the reports coming from the authorities in Romania. Last year, Telekom offered Romanian customers average internet browsing speeds of up to 135.26 Mbps and download speeds of up to 119.92 Mbps, these numbers increasing substantially over the course of a year.

Telekom: GREAT announcement, what has changed for many customers

Telekom now offers Romanian customers download speeds of up to 202.35 Mbps, and upload speeds of up to 169.09 Mbps, so as you can see, the increase is substantial for customers from all over the country. Telekom still remains below RCS & RDS, UPC, and Orange in terms of download speeds, but also above Nextgen, being the fourth operator in Romania, according to ANCOM, in terms of fixed internet speeds.

telecom internet improvement

Telekom it also leased part of its infrastructure to Orange, and the average speeds offered by its competitor are double, but this is also because we are talking about a much smaller number of customers who benefit from them. However, those who look at graphs like this will think that Orange has a much better infrastructure than Telekom, which is not really true, because it offers its fixed services through the same network as its competitor.

Telekom it will certainly continue to improve fixed internet speeds in Romania, but it is hard to say to what extent it will succeed in surpassing all competitors that now offer speeds higher than its own.
