Bucharest: Shopping baskets are close to being Banned

Bucharest Prohibited Shopping Baskets

Shopping baskets are very close to being banned in Bucharest due to the Corona virus pandemic, the authorities are going to discuss this proposal on Friday, which has already been applied in Arges county for some time, and aims to reduce the spread of the virus.

Shopping baskets, which pass from hand to hand without being sanitized, are a method of spreading the Coronavirus if hands are not disinfected, and the authorities are starting to focus more seriously on the problem of transmission through contact with surfaces, at least in Bucharest, where the number of new cases exploded.

Here is what the ARges authorities said before implementing this measure.

"By common agreement, it was decided to give up hand shopping baskets, which represent an epidemiological risk factor. At the same time, several dispensers with disinfectant will be installed, for hand hygiene. Supermarket employees and security guards will be more vigilant and urge customers to comply with health protection rules - in particular wearing a mask correctly and maintaining physical distance. If necessary, customer access to the store will be limited."
