Coronavirus: The Army returns to the fight in Romania at the request of DSPs

The Ministry of National Defense announced today that the Army is re-entering the fight against the Coronavirus with 600 soldiers who will support the DSPs starting from the next period, as they are in dire need of personnel to manage the pandemic situation more effectively.

The military will arrive at DSPs to take up positions as telephone operators, to carry out epidemiological investigations, to enter the data of infected/non-infected people into the national pandemic monitoring system, and not only that.

"Soldiers of M.Ap.N. acts in support of the Public Health Departments, the Ministry of National Defense makes available to the public health departments in the country approximately 600 soldiers to support, in the next period, the general efforts to combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The military will perform the tasks of call-center operators, for carrying out epidemiological investigations, as well as computer operators, for filling out the databases that are drawn up as part of the actions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first 230 of them operate, starting on Tuesday, December 15, in the counties of Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș , Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Tulcea.
Also, teams are being trained to carry out their activity, under the same conditions, in the Municipality of Bucharest and in other counties, depending on the requests of the public health departments.

The collaboration with the public health departments is carried out on the basis of institutional protocols, at their request."
