ING Bank: New IMPORTANT WARNING for ALL Customers

ING Bank has issued a new very important warning for all customers in Romania, here is what you need to know right now about what it is sending.

ING Bank secure payments

ING Bank published today a new very important warning for all its clients in Romania, just a few days after sending a message regarding a last-minute change that applies from January 1, 2021. More precisely, ING Bank is now warning them on customers regarding the refusal of certain online payments made by them starting with January 1st, and this is because the new security regulations for these types of transactions came into force.

ING Bank requires from now on all customers in Romania to authorize online payments either from HomeBank, or with a code received via SMS, and the login password in their own internet banking accounts. This measure is imposed for transactions made by ING Bank customers on websites that have a 3D Secure system implemented by their owners, but otherwise, the payment requested by that website can be refused, precisely because it is not secure.

ING Bank: New IMPORTANT WARNING for ALL Customers

ING Bank sent the warning below for all those who want to make purchases on websites of this kind, and it is good to know what exactly will happen when you make purchases on websites without 3D Secure. In Romania there are enough websites of this kind, the vast majority of the big ones have implemented 3D Secure security systems for online payments, and in the case of ING Bank it will allow the authorization of payments, but otherwise it is a "game of luck".

ING Bank could refuse to allow payments to small online stores or websites, without many successful transactions, all depending on the risk analysis that the bank's systems do automatically. It does not explain very clearly how ING Bank decides when it should refuse online payments that its customers try, so you will never know clearly, but when it happens, you will have to choose alternative payment methods for products.

ING Bank recommend Apple Pay or Google Pay, and if they are not available, then cash on delivery is the only way to have the products delivered to you, because you will not be able to pay online.
