Romanian police warning of fake police officers

The Romanian Police issued a very important warning to all Romanian citizens after they discovered two men who illegally assumed the identity of policemen to steal money from an old man, and below you have the whole story.

"Police officers from Vâlcea found two men who allegedly stole money from an old man's home, after entering his house by impersonating official qualities.

On January 20 of this year, the Râmnicu Vâlcea Municipal Police was notified by the daughter of an 83-year-old man from the municipality, regarding the fact that a sum of money had been stolen from her father's home.

From the investigations carried out on the spot, it emerged that two men would have recommended themselves to have an official capacity and, under the pretext of having information that the old man has fake money, they would have stripped him of the money.

Following the investigations carried out by the police from Vâlcea and the exchange of operational information with the police of the Oradea Heritage Crime Investigation Bureau, it was possible to locate, in the town of Milcoiu, a car in which there were two men, respectively 25 and 43 years old , from Cluj county, suspected of committing the act.

When performing a body and vehicle check, the police discovered a badge, which they allegedly used to identify themselves, and 7.550 lei.

Based on the evidence administered, the two men were detained for 24 hours, being investigated for the crimes of aggravated theft and usurpation of official qualities.

Today, the two men will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Râmnicu Vâlcea Court, with a proposal for preventive arrest.
