The Ministry of Health's explanation of the effectiveness of the AstraZeneca Vaccine

The Ministry of Health thought that it would be appropriate to offer the Romanians an explanation regarding a situation that is very important, and is on the minds of many people at the moment, and this is because the vaccination with AstraZeneca has raised many question marks.

The Ministry of Health says that the AstraZeneca vaccine is also effective for people who are over 55 years old, as it was recently approved for use in the case of people who are over 65 years old, so it can be used without problems now.

"Is the AstraZeneca vaccine also effective in people over 55 years old?
Yes, the AstraZeneca vaccine is also effective for people over 55.
Additional studies involving people over 55 years of age have shown that AstraZeneca's vaccine is safe and effective in this age group as well.
Also, the practical experience of countries that did not have age restrictions (e.g. Great Britain) shows that the AstraZeneca vaccine can be administered to adults over 18 years of age, without a higher age restriction.
In addition, both the World Health Organization and the European Medicines Agency recommend the use of the vaccine for all age groups above 18 years.
Thus, Romania took the decision to eliminate age restrictions based on additional scientific data that proves that this vaccine can be administered safely and offers protection to people over 55 years old."
