Valeriu Gheorghita, the coordinator of the vaccination campaign in Romania, said that in the summer it is possible to start immunizing children against the Coronavirus, and this is because Pfizer BioNTech has already obtained authorization for its vaccine in Canada.
Valeriu Gheorghita says that even in the USA, the imminent approval of a similar authorization is expected, and the European Medicines Agency would offer a similar one, so that from the summer children between the ages of 12-15 can be vaccinated.
"Furthermore, as we know, the BioNTech-Pfizer company has submitted all the necessary documentation to the European Medicines Agency in order to obtain authorization for the 12-15 age group. We expect that in the next few days the FDA will grant this authorization and it is very likely that during the next month the European Medicines Agency will also issue this authorization, so we have a very clear perspective that from this summer we can also vaccinate people from the group aged 12-15, who obviously want to be vaccinated, with the consent of their parents."
