Vaccination Coverage Rates Against Coronavirus in Romania

Valeriu Gheorghita revealed today what the vaccination coverage rates are in Romania at the moment, Bucharest is the best, with a rate of over 50%, and from there things are going down in the whole country at the moment.

"In Bucharest, we have a vaccination coverage rate in the eligible population over 16 years old, resident population, of about 45% - and more precisely 44,9% -, which we consider to be a very good vaccination coverage rate, it is much above the national average and probably that, in Bucharest, the herd immunity rate, cumulative between vaccination and passing through the disease, is well over 50%, which explains, perhaps, the favorable epidemiological situation.

Also, in Cluj, the vaccination coverage rate of the eligible population is 41,43%, and, I repeat, we are talking about the county, not the municipality. In Sibiu – 35,15%, Brașov – 33,13%, Timiș – 31,66% and Constanta – 31,75%; also, Alba – 30,77%. We presented the counties that have a vaccination coverage rate of over 30%. The last counties at the level with the lowest vaccination coverage rate are: Covasna, with 18,1%, Bacău – 17,3%, Giurgiu – 16,6%, Botoșani – 16,6% and Suceava – 15,7% . At the moment, we have 989 active vaccination centers, accumulating a total number of 1.493 flows for all four types of vaccines, so that vaccination centers receiving vaccine from the BioNTech-Pfizer company are 710, with 1.140 flows; centers receiving vaccine from Moderna company – 128, with 156 streams, active centers for vaccine from AstraZeneca company – 118, with 155 streams, and we have a larger number of centers receiving vaccine from Johnson&Johnson company – 33, accumulating a total number of 42 streams. I remind you that many of the health units and family medicine offices, in fact most of them, receive vaccine from the Johnson&Johnson company. In terms of the number of people currently scheduled in the platform, for both dose 1 and dose 2, for all four types of vaccine, there are more than 546.000 people. In Pfizer centers – 479.246 people, in centers receiving vaccine from Moderna company – 39.761 people, in centers receiving vaccine from AstraZeneca company – 26.921 people, and we have 1.036 people in vaccination centers with vaccine from the company Johnson & Johnson.”
