Huawei is at the Center of a new SCANDAL with Global Implications

Huawei, one of the giants of the IT world, is again at the center of a scandal that has international implications, and this after since 2019 the company has been involved in various other, more or less, serious ones. According to the American media, various companies have received approvals from the American government in recent months to sell various components to Huawei, but only those necessary for the manufacture of intelligent and autonomous cars in China.

Huawei has experienced a radical change in the situation it is in, but now accusations have begun to appear according to which those in the US government hid these approvals until now, and they come from an American senator. Senator Marco Rubio accuses the US government of keeping away from the public eye the fact that it allowed some American companies to start selling auto components to those from Huawei, something that was prohibited until 2021.

Huawei uses these auto components to improve its smart and autonomous cars that it already sells in China, but this is starting to generate a lot of criticism for the US government. The American senator says that explanations are needed for the change of strategy of the US government, which prohibits the sale of components for Huawei phones, but suddenly accepted that the sale of components for cars be allowed.

"The Biden administration cannot afford to hide this approval from the public. Officials must present what actions they took and why. It is not in America's economic or security interest to help Huawei. Instead of granting waivers, the Biden Administration should increase sanctions and restrictions on Huawei and other Chinese technology companies.”

Huawei cannot still buy components to manufacture 5G telecommunications equipment, or phones, but those for cars would be considered a lower risk to US national security. This is an unofficial explanation of a former employee of the US government, and regardless of how the authorities now view the bans imposed against Huawei, the company can enjoy the opportunity to buy the components it needs for cars.

Huawei will not soon receive approvals from the US government to buy components to be used in phones and 5G telecommunications equipment, but it is not known if this measure will remain fixed in the future.
