Formula 1 Official Announcement IMPORTANT Changes Announced Before the New Season

Formula 1, the most important motoring championship, will make its debut in 2022 with some very important changes that will make the races much more intense, which is exactly what hundreds of millions of fans around the world want.

Formula 1 brought us in 2021, we had one of the most thrilling championships in recent years, and this was the basis for the implementation of some changes before the 2022 season. Thus, one of the most important changes that will be made to the single-seaters, would be that they will be less aerodynamically loaded, having a simpler front wing.

Formula 1 was supposed to have a review, it was supposed to come in 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed for this year. The new aerodynamic package is made to give drivers the chance to overtake more often, making the races more spectacular. The single-seaters will also be equipped with 18-inch rims and new tires and the cockpit will be enlarged.

Formula 1 has also imposed a series of financial changes, so that the cost ceiling will be reduced from 145 million dollars in 2021 to 140 million in 2022, in order to provide fairer competition conditions between teams, even if this would could substantially affect the cars.

Formula 1 will not start before the new single-seaters are tested, and they will take place in two different locations, the Bahrain International Circuit and the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, each of these locations hosting a series of three to six days of tests. The locations were divided at the request of the teams, the circuit in Barcelona being a traditional location for the tests that are done every year, considering that it consists of a variety of turns that can be taken at low, but also very high speeds and has and a long straight section, where very high speeds can be reached.

A second round of tests will take place in Bahrain, due to the logistical and technical benefits, this being the circuit that will open the new World Championship between March 18-20, 2022. The testing of the cars will be done only on the allowed days, being able to run all kinds of settings and programs that the engineers of the teams want. The tires will be supplied by the Pirelli company, which will give the teams an equal number of tires, enough to do as many tests as they want, regardless of the number of laps.
