NATO will strengthen its presence around Finland and Sweden if it applies for membership

NATO, the most powerful military alliance in the whole world, announced through the voice of its Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, that it will strengthen its positions around Finland and Sweden if both countries decide to join the alliance and submit a request in this regard during June, when the next summit of the alliance takes place.

NATO comes up with these specifications to guarantee the safety of the two countries during the period in which their applications for membership are analyzed, and this is because Russia constantly provokes both nations, so serious security guarantees are needed to avoid possible conflicts military between them.

"I am convinced that we will find solutions for the security that Sweden will need during the transition period. From the potential moment when Sweden will apply for membership and NATO will say it wants Sweden to join, NATO will have a firm obligation to be able to guarantee Sweden's security."
