Minister of Health Last Minute Confirmation New Important Measures

The Minister of Health has signed the implementation of some very important new measures for Romanians throughout the country, these being specifically designed for those who need dialysis during this period in a hospital that can offer them the necessary medical assistance, but in certain conditions depending on the pandemic situation.

The Minister of Health explains below, according to order 1.334 of May 11, 2022, the situation in which hospitals can request changes to their structure, including the allocation of a smaller number of beds for dialysis patients if they are in a period with many infections generated by the Coronavirus, which requires hospitalization, and occupies part of the normally available beds.

"The management of the health units requests the DSP to approve the modification of the structure of the health units only under the conditions provided in annex no. 3, which is an integral part of this order, in compliance with the provisions of art. XX of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 44/2022 regarding the establishment of some measures within the health system, as well as for the interpretation, modification and completion of some normative acts.

Management of the sanitary units included in annex no. 2 may request DSP to approve a smaller number of beds allocated to medical assistance for patients, confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19, compared to the maximum number of beds that was approved for the same purpose, depending on the criteria and according to annex no. 3 – Conditions for reducing the number of beds approved for the care of patients confirmed with COVID19 and changing the structure of health facilities in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decrease in the number of beds allocated to medical care for patients, confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19 must be accompanied by a corresponding increase in the number of beds allocated to medical care for patients not confirmed with COVID-19, with the inclusion in the number of beds provided in the organizational structure of the hospital.

 Management of the sanitary units included in annex no. 2 submits DSP a resilience plan of the hospital against the recrudescence of COVID-19, assumed by the manager and which will contain at least the following information: a) the order and manner in which the hospital will reach the maximum number of beds necessary to ensure medical assistance for patients, confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19, depending on the epidemiological evolution.

Proposals regarding the need for protective materials and sanitary materials, medicines, medical devices and medical devices to ensure the management of the recrudescence episode of COVID-19.
