The European Commission, through the vice-president Vera Jurova, says that Ukraine should receive the status of a candidate country for the accession to the European Union as soon as possible, and the accession should be done in just a few years, not in decades, as it happens normal in processes of this kind for various countries.
The European Commission says, through its vice president, that this is a very strong symbolic message, and it is an incentive for the Ukrainian people to fight in the war in Ukraine and to make the necessary changes to go through the process of accession and integration respecting all the necessary conditions imposed by the Union European.
"This is a very strong symbolic message and an incentive for the Ukrainian people. We will make a decision on Friday," Jourova said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais.
