Minister of Health: Last Minute Warning, Danger for Millions of Romanians

The Minister of Health sends an extremely important warning to millions of people from all over Romania through an announcement he made in the Romanian Parliament, and this because he talks about the health problems generated by environmental pollution.

The Minister of Health talks below about the used fuels that cause many deaths among people every year, but also about active or passive smoking, plus about other methods by which humanity destroys the environment, but also does its own harm, unfortunately.

"Health in all policies, that is, all policies that are adopted by sector, must take into account the impact on health, and I think that the generation of pollutants that affect the environment that affects water, air, must represent one of the concerns. Of course, there are some areas, sectors, which will change slowly, will continue to influence air quality for quite a long time.

I am referring to the use of fossil fuels, we see that there is an interest at the moment in replacing fossil fuels with other green energy sources, including in the area of cars, but until there is a real impact on the pollution generated by fossil fuels, it will take a long time for a long time.

Moreover, all these elements that lead to pollution, and that lead to a large number of deaths, for example lung diseases that have their origin in polluting sources, exposure to polluting sources in the air, produce about 7 million deaths per year, which it is extremely much, and to them is added another 1 million deaths due to soil pollution.

We see that from this area alone, almost 10% of the deaths recorded globally are due to causes that can be influenced by political decisions, and later by administrative decisions, but on the other hand, a lot of education is also needed.

Smoking has a triple effect in terms of pollution, on the one hand exposure to tobacco and tobacco products, either through smoking or through passive exposure in premises where other people smoke, is a major factor for lung diseases, but I want to bring to your attention another important element, almost 1 million tons of waste, cigarette butts, are accumulated annually."
