NATO Continues Air Exercises with Allied Aircraft

NATO Continues Air Exercises Aircraft of the Allied Countries

NATO continues its aerial exercises in the airspace of the allied countries in Europe, focusing mainly on the Baltic States area, where there is also an increased danger due to the constant threats coming from Russia.

"NATO fighter jets are honing their skills and protecting allied airspace. Taking off from Lithuania, Spanish fighter jets deployed in NATO's Baltic air policing mission carried out aerial exercises, including aircraft interception exercises and defensive maneuvers such as activating their missiles.

The missiles help protect aircraft by diverting infrared threats, such as heat-seeking air-to-air or surface-to-air missiles, to lock onto their heat signatures instead of the aircraft's engine.

Meanwhile, French Air and Space Force fighters scrambled twice from Ämari, Estonia, last week to meet and escort Russian military aircraft flying near NATO airspace over international waters.

This routine mission is regularly conducted when unidentified aircraft appear on Allied radars. Together with the Czech Air Force, these fighter detachments protect the skies above their Baltic allies 24/7.”
