WhatsApp wants to make an extremely important change for the application we use on iPhone and Android at the moment, and it is one forced by the fact that people still do not know how to effectively protect themselves against account theft. Considering that for years WhatsApp has been facing a major problem regarding the theft of accounts, now we have a measure that will reduce this problem even more.
WhatsApp Messenger is working on implementing a system that will further secure people's accounts, making it much more difficult to transfer accounts between phones, which will substantially reduce the number of frauds that occur every day. As you can see in the image below, those from WhatsApp are going to impose a new additional authentication system when transferring an account to another phone, as it is necessary to confirm the transfer from the phone already used.
WhatsApp makes a FORCED Change for iPhone and Android Phones
The procedure for transferring a WhatsApp account from one phone to another now only involves the use of a code sent via SMS, or possibly a code set by us for the 2-step authentication system. You can see that in the future it will be required to use a code sent to the phone on which we already use the WhatsApp account, in order to be able to log in to the new phone, this procedure being mandatory, while the one for 2-step authentication is optional.
For a long time, WhatsApp has been under a lot of pressure due to the fact that it does not have security measures good enough for people, but now it is taking the initiative and wants to solve this problem. Forcing people to use this additional method of authenticating a phone change is a very important measure that should have been imposed for a long time, but here we are only now seeing the first steps taken to provide it for us.
It is not yet known when exactly this functionality will be launched, considering that it must be prepared very well to be offered without problems, so we have to wait and see when everything will be ready.
