Important Weather Warning from ANM for all of Romania

Important Weather Warning ANM All Romania

ANM issued a very important weather warning for all of Romania during this afternoon, the Romanian authorities bringing to the attention of Romanians the fact that a cloud of Saharan dust is moving over our country until Saturday.

The National Meteorological Administration explains below where this cloud of Saharan dust started, and where it is going, at the moment, the good part being that it does not contain very high concentrations of Saharan dust, so we will not be extremely affected by he.

ANALYSIS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THE AREA OF ROMANIA, during the period 23-27.08.2022.

Starting with the date of 23.08, at the beginning in the area of Moldova (fig.1), then expanding towards the south of Romania (fig.2), the general air circulation from the east to the west-southwest favored the transport of an air mass containing Saharan dust particles of not very high concentrations.

Considering that in the north-eastern vicinity of Romania, the atmospheric pressure remained relatively high and that this relatively high pressure field occupies almost the entire north-northeast part of the continent, the eastern air circulation was favored on the one hand at ground level.

On the other hand, the stationing or concentration of these Saharan dust particles in the air layers in the immediate vicinity of the ground (because a field of high atmospheric pressure is characterized by the movement of air vertically, from top to bottom).

The concentrations of Saharan dust are not very high, because the air mass that contains them was driven by the general circulation of air from Asia over the Black Sea, the Republic of Moldova, southern Russia and Ukraine, and only later over Romania.
