The Minister of Energy has officially published a very important confirmation for a decision that was taken for the good of millions of Romanians throughout the country, one that everyone should know about, and this because it is related to the natural gas that will receive our country.
The Minister of Energy talks about the very important meetings he had with representatives of partners from Saudi Arabia to ensure a flow of natural gas to Romania, to replace the deliveries made by Russia, and to ensure the energy independence of our country in future.
Today I had a new working meeting with Mahrah Alshaya AL ALI, Chargé d'Affaires, of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, to continue the dialogue started during the visit I made to the Emirates, in June, with the Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca and colleagues from the government.
We are working on concrete cooperation projects in the energy field, because the gas crisis and the unprecedented increase in energy prices require the implementation of viable long-term measures, solidarity efforts, dialogue, cooperation between states and common approaches.
Today I had a meeting with HE Mr. Dr. Mohammed Adbulghani M. Khayat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Bucharest. The topics of discussion addressed the energy cooperation between the two states, focusing mainly on the identification of alternative sources of supply with natural gas and oil.
Considering Romania's natural gas and oil import needs, as well as the fact that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a significant potential on a global scale from the perspective of securing the energy supply, we conveyed that it is important to maintain a direct dialogue to identify opportunities for collaboration .
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized the interest of Saudi companies to invest in the Romanian market, in concrete projects in the energy sector and other economic fields.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Dan-Dragoș Drăgan, Secretary of State from the Ministry of Energy, and by the First Secretary and Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Abdullah Hussain Alsharif, from the Embassy.
