The Russian Army Forces the People of the Occupied Regions to Vote in the Referendum

The Russian army is accused of sending its soldiers to the homes of people in the regions of Ukraine where referendums are being held for the annexation of the territories to Russia, and asking the people to vote in favor of annexation, something that of course was to be expected in the current context of the war in Ukraine.

Russia said that it supports the holding of these referendums at the moment, and that it will recognize them, and then it will make the necessary documents to join these territories to the Russian Federation, which of course has already generated the indignation of the international community.

"Armed Russian representatives are knocking on doors and asking local residents to "vote" for joining Russia. Russian representatives in the occupied Luhansk region are coming to the homes of local residents accompanied by armed men and forcing them to participate in the pseudo-referendum, said Serhii Haidai, the region's governor.

"If a person doesn't open the door, (Russian forces) threaten to break in. When a person checks 'no' on the 'ballot,' they note," Haidai said."
