The soldiers of the Romanian Army have returned from the Multinational Exercise Saber Junction 22

The soldiers of the Romanian Army, who for a month participated in the multinational exercise Saber Junction 22, returned home, being part of a multinational collaboration that brought together soldiers of several armies that are part of NATO.

The Romanian Army explains below the purpose of these exercises which are carried out together with other NATO forces, they are extremely useful in the context of the war in Ukraine, which represents an increasing threat to Europe.

"Falcon" lives at the end of the exercise For a month, the soldiers from Bistrita trained intensively in the Hohenfels training base, where they participated in the Saber Junction 22 Multinational Exercise.

This year, the Romanian detachment was made up of an infantry company and a structure from the command of the 812th Infantry Battalion "Bistrița".

The commander of the Falcons, Lieutenant-Colonel Ionuț Ilisei, was with them and told us: "Within this exercise, carrying out joint activities brings many benefits, being an opportunity to train as close as possible to the conditions and realities of the field the fight.

It is also an opportunity to take an x-ray of your own structure, to identify aspects that require improvement measures and to preserve and develop your strengths." The commander of the infantry company was lieutenant Cosmin Pușcaș.

The experience he gained in the last exercises helped him improve his leadership qualities: “I am on my third experience at Saber Junction, where I had the opportunity to be a platoon commander, deputy company commander and now lead the company.

Compared to the first exercise at the Hohenfels training ground, I believe that I have now been able to develop a clearer view of the battlefield and integrate much better support elements of both my own and those of the participating allied detachments." In a wooded area, with very frequent climate changes, the soldiers from Bistrita faced the challenges and successfully carried out the actions provided in the tactical scenario.

"Although the weather was a real obstacle, the soldiers continued to train throughout the exercise and responded promptly to all the tasks they received." , Lieutenant Cosmin Pușcas told us.
