Minister of Education: LAST TIME, Major Announcement, which Guarantees Schools and All Students

The Minister of Education LAST TIME Major Announcement Guarantees Schools for All Students

The Minister of Education made a new series of extremely important announcements aimed at all schools in Romania, as well as millions of students who attend their courses, and this is because, first of all, he talked about the fact that all PNRR benchmarks have been reached until at the moment, and there are no delays in this process.

The Minister of Education says that by the end of October he wants the new Education Laws to reach the Government's approval circuit, in order to be adopted in time to produce their effects, separately talking about tablets for schools that could also be financed from the money of the ministry, finally guaranteeing the predictability of exams for students.

"There is this desire to have the laws submitted to the Government's approval circuit by the end of October. As I said, we will do everything in our power to ensure that this term is respected. Regarding the PNRR targets, we have no delay, the ministry fulfilling all the milestones we had proposed.

Moreover, on several milestones with an advanced deadline, we propose to put certain guidelines into public debate precisely in order to have time for implementation. Also, we have already started the discussions for laboratory equipment, we also have a series of situations in which we are analyzing, for example, the taking over of the projects already approved since the time of the pandemic for the purchase of tablets by the mayors.

The funds ran out on the POC, and then there is a request from the Ministry of Funds to take over within the digitalization component of the PNRR, and to settle these amounts that the town halls in some cases have already advanced, so we are trying to adapt to the component of digitization, and to take into account the needs identified at the community level.

From my point of view, the most important milestone, and the one that will matter, is the one aimed at the adoption of the new Education Laws. Practically, the new laws must be adopted, and in force, at the beginning of the next school year, and in this context, that is why I said that it is the main priority of my mandate.

I can guarantee that the ministry, as long as I am minister, will not abdicate the principle of predictability. Of course there is the legal prerogative of the Parliament, but I think that the whole political spectrum understood the need to stop surprising the school communities, and to give time for preparation to those who are going to take certain important exams during the students' years in the coming years."
