Russia Continues to Forcefully Deport Ukrainians from the Occupied Territories

Russia continues to deport Ukrainians en masse from the territories it has occupied until now, according to the Institute for the Study of War, based in Washington, over 1 million adults and children being forcibly taken to the Russian Federation by the occupying forces in the past months of war until now.

Russia has also deported at least several tens of thousands of children to its territories in recent months, leaving their parents in Ukraine, in many cases, and despite the numerous criticisms made by the Western world, the Russians have not stopped this process continues, and most likely they won't stop anytime soon.

"Russia continues to carry out massive, forced deportations of Ukrainians. The Institute for the Study of War reports that Russia's deportations of Ukrainians likely represent a deliberate campaign of ethnic cleansing, in addition to apparent violations of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

ISW experts cite Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin as saying on October 14 that "several thousand" children from the Kherson region are "already in other regions of Russia, resting in rest homes and children's camps.

As ISW previously reported, Russian officials have openly admitted to placing children from the occupied areas of Ukraine for adoption with Russian families in a manner that could constitute a violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.”
