Minister of Education: Officially Announced LAST MINUTE Measure for Romanian Schools and Students

Minister of Education Measure LAST TIME Officially Announced Schools for Romanian Students

The Minister of Education made two extremely important last-minute announcements aimed at Romanians from all over the country, and this is because it brings to people's immediate attention something that should not be overlooked at the moment, more precisely the situation of social grants, and how to apply ministerial orders.

The Minister of Education speaks below, in the answer given by a Romanian parliamentarian, about how it will be checked whether the legislation is respected when it comes to granting school scholarships, separately speaking about a special event dedicated to day care centers for children that was held in Romania.

"Congratulations to Concordia Humanitarian Organization for the event dedicated to Day Centers for children held today, November 8! It was touching to see how, through your involvement, so many children were given a real chance at quality inclusive education. The mission of Day Centers is extremely important, complementary and vital to the education offered by schools, because this is how we can support children and young people with potential, who encounter difficulties, to train and reach their potential. I am grateful for all your efforts. I stay with you!

The Ministry of Education will ask the school inspectorates, at the end of the school year, for an analysis of the consequences of applying OME no. 5379/2022, so as to ensure that the purpose for which student scholarships are granted is achieved and, possibly, to make the necessary changes in the following school year.

Primary and secondary school students from rural areas, who are schooled in another locality, as they do not have the opportunity to study in an educational unit in their home town, the granting of the scholarship not being conditional on the family's net monthly income; by locality of residence is meant the commune/city with its administrative subdivisions.

Minister's order no. 5379/2022, which establishes the new general criteria for granting scholarships to students, was debated within the Social Dialogue Commission at the ministry level, being forwarded for consultation to student associations, parents, representative trade unions in education, representatives of social partners. All students who are disadvantaged from a socio-economic perspective benefit from social scholarships from the state budget.

We consider coming from families with low incomes, children who have chronic problems, children with disabilities and orphans of one or both parents. In addition, through the draft of the emergency Ordinance, developed and submitted to public debate, by the ministry, students who are schooled in a locality other than the one of their domicile are provided with a monthly lump sum for transportation expenses."
