Nicolae Ciuca Announces the Results of the Discussions Held with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel

Nicolae Ciuca had a meeting with the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, and at the center of the discussions between the two officials was the current situation in Ukraine, a very complicated one that requires a lot of attention, the help that the country needs being extremely large.

Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă had this evening a discussion with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during a working dinner.

The President of the European Council thanked Romania for its responsible and determined actions in support of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

Charles Michel declared full support for Bucharest's efforts to join Schengen and the readiness to get involved in facilitating the finding of a political solution to unblock the decision of the EU Council.

The Prime Minister of Romania highlighted the measures adopted in support of Ukraine, reiterating the need for the EU to remain united and in solidarity. Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă also emphasized the need to continue actions for the economic stability and security of the Republic of Moldova, appreciating including the discussions on the launch of a new EU civilian mission to support the increase of Chisinau's capacity to manage hybrid threats.

The Prime Minister showed that Romania remains committed to continuing the support for the efforts undertaken by both Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, as EU candidate states.
