The Minister of Education has published a new Emergency Ordinance which is going to bring a series of important changes for Romania's schools and high schools, and this is because we are talking about measures for teachers, Ligia Deca is preparing a normative act that will bring teachers first teaching careers and salary compensation.
The Minister of Education explains below why these benefits are necessary for teachers in Romania, Ligia Deca wanting to offer teachers the compensation they deserve for the work they put in every year in the classrooms together with the students they prepare for the day, of the day, in the educational units of the country.
"Thus, the draft normative act is proposed to establish the legal framework in order to grant a support measure, called a teaching career premium for pre-university education staff, respectively teaching staff, auxiliary teaching staff from state pre-university education, in activity, during the school year 2022-2023 as well as for teaching staff in the university education system
With the scientific degree of head of works/lecturer or university assistant active in the 2022-2023 school year. The teaching career premium consists in the granting of a measure to support the teaching activity on electronic support for specialized courses and related expenses, IT equipment and other related information technology teaching equipment, for the purchase of specialized books
Including for the coverage of personal needs within the limit of a percentage of 30% for pre-university education staff, respectively teaching staff, auxiliary teaching staff from state pre-university education, in activity, in the 2022-2023 school year as well as for teaching staff in the education system university, with the scientific degree of head of works/lecturer or university assistant active in the 2022-2023 school year.
The teaching career premium is supported by non-refundable external funds within the Education and Employment Program 2021-2027, in compliance with the applicable eligibility rules and within the limits of the amounts allocated with this
destination. The teaching career premium has a nominal value of 1.500 lei and is granted in a single installment, namely in October 2023 and can be used in the school/university year 2023-2024.
The representatives of the county school inspectorates and of the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest draw up the list of final beneficiaries, taking into account the information communicated and assumed by the representatives of the state pre-university education units. State universities draw up the list of final beneficiaries. The list of final beneficiaries contains the following information: name, surname, personal numerical code, domicile/residence address, educational unit in which they operate, address of the educational unit; the option of the final beneficiary regarding the place of receipt of measures to support the didactic activity on electronic support."
