Acum cateva saptamani v-am spus ca echipa Chronic Dev a lansat un program numit Crash Reporter Tool cu ajutorul caruia va incerca sa descopere noi exploit-uri pentru iDevice-urile noastre. Acest program poate fi instalat atat pe Mac cat si pe Windows si practic trimite la Cronic Dev Team toate raporturile generate de iOS atunci cand o aplicatie se inchide singura. In mod normal aceste raporturi ar fi trebuit sa ajunga direct la Apple insa ele ajung acum la Chronic Dev Team care le analizeaza si apoi le retrimite mai departe la compania din Cupertino.
CDevReporter is the simplest and easiest method to send you crash reports to the Chronic Dev team to help future jailbreaks. CDevReporter is a daemon that runs in the background on your iOS device and sends your crash reports to the Chronic Dev team. It sleeps until new crash reports are found, then attempts to upload them to the Chronic Dev (llc) servers. It WILL use data if you are not connected to a WiFi network when a crash report is generated. If you are not okay with this, DO NOT install this application. If you want to install this application, you can disable/enable it in settings once installed.

Dupa ce au primit cateva milioane de raporturi de la utilizatori, acum cei de la Chronic Dev Team au lansat programul ca un pachet in Cydia iar toate informatiile vor fi trimise automat de pe iDevice-urile noastre fara a mai fi nevoiti sa folosim iTunes pentru intreaga procedura. Instalarea CdevReporter va genera consum suplimentar de trafic de date si probabil va afecta intr-o anumita masura autonomia bateriei deoarece vorbim despre un proces care functioneaza in background. Instalati acest pachet doar daca doriti sa le oferiti celor de la Chronic Dev Team informatii care i-ar putea ajuta sa gaseasca metode de a face viitoare solutii de jailbreak.
