i3D este o aplicatie despre care am vorbit in urma cu cateva saptamani cand va spuneam ca e prima aplicatie care permite afisareade continut 3D in aplicatie in functie de unghiul de vedere al utilizatorului. Aplicatia i3D are o interfata speciala care ne permite sa vizualizam continut aparent 3D fara a folosi ochelari speciali. Interfata foloseste camera frontala a tabletei pentru a determina pozitia capului nostru in raport cu obiectele afisate pe ecran astfel ca atunci cand miscam tableta, efectele elementelor de pe ecran se modifica in functie de unghiul de vizualizare. Intreaga interfata e foarte interesanta si foarte foarte bine realizata insa nu vorbim despre o experienta 3D in adevaratul sens al cuvantului. Practic continutul apare ca fiind 3D datorita efectului special adaugat atunci cand modificam unghiul de vedere insa in realitate el nu este 3D.

i3D contains several 3D scenes that you can observe with HCP. It only relies on face tracking. It does not use the accelerometers or the gyroscopes. The face tracking system does not detect and track the face in every lighting condition. Read the instructions in the app to get a good tracking.
Head-Coupled Perspective does not create a stereoscopic display! It provides a kind of monocular 3D display: the same picture is seen by both eyes. In the future, it might be combined with a stereoscopic display for a better 3D effect.
Practic tot ce au facut cei din Grenoble creeaza doar impresia ca ne uitam la elemente 3D cand defapt ceea ce vedem noi acolo este doar o emulare a acestui efect. Continut 3D in adevaratul sens al cuvantului nu ar putea fi vizionat pe tableta iPad decat cu ochelari speciali deoarece ecranul nu permite vizualizarea in alt mod. Aplicatia lor este disponibila incepand de acum cateva zile in AppStore de unde o puteti descarca si incerca. Trebuie sa aveti macar iOS 4.1 pentru a o putea instala.

E doar de la mine sau merge foarte greu aplicatia ? Imi face multe pauze pe iPad 2 cand misc mai mult in parti.
btw, exista o aplicatie asemanatoare dar mult mai complexa, pt iphone (nu stiu daca este universala). Se numeste Holo Toy.
