Was Apple behind the \"loss\" of the iPhone HD prototype?

The character on the left is Steve Wozniak, aka "Woz" (Wheels of Zeus), a true legend in the product user community Apple being one of the co-founders of the company, but at the same time he contributed a lot to the development of the software jailbreak that we use today.

As you can clearly see in the picture on the left, "Woz" wanted to make a little fun of his trouble Gary Powell, the one who "lost" the prototype of iPhone HD, and made a T-shirt on which he wrote the message: "I went drinking with Gary Powell and all I got was a lousy iPhone prototype." but more interesting is the comment left by "Woz" on the website of those from Gizmodo :

"If it were me instead of Gray and someone did this I'd be (a) pissed if it wasn't funny, or (b) laughing if it was funny. It's interesting that the employee who showed me an iPad for 2 minutes during the iPad launch wait got fired."

The person who gave him a small demonstration with a tablet iPad during the keynote on January 27, she was fired by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), but Gary Powell keeps his job, why? What exactly motivated those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to fire an employee who gave a small demonstration to one of the co-founders Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), but to overlook the "loss" of an iPhone prototype? From my point of view there are 2 options: times Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), he was in the middle of this whole story and no one lost anything, maybe just the public's attention and he decided to resort to a little trick to get everyone's attention back; either that prototype was brought up front to hide the thing at the real terminal.

To be honest, I don't know what to believe, until I saw what Woz wrote, I was 100% convinced that the prototype of iPhone was presented iPhone HD but now I'm not so sure. What do you think?
