Does Vodafone Romania officially sell the iPhone 3GS?

Yesterday I received confirmation that Vodafone sells iPhone 3GS to corporate customers through account managers, everything outside of its own website or stores. Ziarul Financiar took over news offering also an official position of those from Orange, but more importantly, it specifies that Vodafone sells iPhone 3GS of 16GB to its customers. Why is the model that Vodafone sells important? Well, because the 3GB iPhone 16GS was discontinued last month and at the moment Apple only produces the 8GB model of the iPhone 3GS.

If the information provided by Ziarul Financiar is true, then Vodafone is selling its customers old models of iPhone 3GS, probably sent by the other Vodafone operators that sell iPhone 3GS in Europe. The terminals are most likely new, but according to those from Orange, Vodafone does not officially market the iPhone 3GS in Romania, so it could be concluded that the respective terminals remained in the stock of the other Vodafone operators in Europe and were sent to Romania for sale.

In conclusion, Vodafone does NOT officially market the iPhone 3GS in Romania and probably won't in the near future. However you can purchase micro-SIM cards compatible with iPad/iPhone 4 from Vodafone.

UPDATED : Here's what they had declared Vodafone officials regarding the sale of the iPhone 3GS.

Vodafone Romania offers a high-performance network and a wide variety of tariff plans for iPhone users, to whom we are pleased to offer our services. For our existing customers who request these terminals, we recommend a number of distributors who can help them in procuring the phones.
