iOS 5.0.2 and the untethered jailbreak solution

This week Apple released iOS 5.0.1 in iTunes for its users in order to solve battery life problems and to block the exploit discovered by a hacker in iOS 5. Unfortunately, the problem with battery autonomy has worsened for some, such as Apple announced that he was investigating following the feedback received from users. The last time Apple said something like this, it also released iOS 5.0.1 for iOS application developers and two weeks after the release of that beta version, it also released the product for users.

Now I think that iOS 5.0.2 is already in the works and next week we could have a first beta version of it. I think Apple will once again rush the release of an iOS version to appease the hundreds of thousands/millions of users who complain about battery life issues. What does this mean for the untethered jailbreak solution that so many have been waiting for? It just means another delay because it is unlikely that the Dev Team will release it now, even if it has advised users not to update to iOS 5.0.1. I think that the guys from the Dev Team are working on a method to implement the untethered jailbreak exploit in iOS 5.0.1 as well, but if they fail, they will release the solution only for iOS 5.

If iOS 5.0.2 comes soon, then the Dev Team will wait for the release of this version of the operating system and make the untethered jailbreak solution directly compatible with it, if it can. Until then, it remains to be seen what Apple will announce next week, but I for one expect to see iOS 5.0.2 beta very soon.
