Orange gives you the opportunity to pay for your subway trip by sending a simple SMS to 1700

After the success of the project regarding free internet in the metro, Orange Romania is now launching SMS payment for metro trips. In collaboration with Metrorex, Orange gives its customers the opportunity to pay for metro trips through a simple SMS sent to the short number 1700. You can find more details in the press release below.

Bucharest, January 27, 2012. From January 30, 2012, Orange Romania, in partnership with Metrorex, is launching a national premiere system for payment and access to metro transport services by using a single short number, available both by SMS and call, exclusively in the Orange network.

Orange customers can pay for a subway trip by SMS to 1700, and they receive the payment confirmation immediately, also by SMS. They can also opt for the purchase of 2 or 10 trips by sending the text 2C or 10C to the short number 1700. The price of one trip is 0,50 euros, for 2 - 0.90 euros, and when buying 10 trips the price is 2,20 ,XNUMX euro[1]. Additionally, trips can also be purchased via SMS to the number 7477.

Access to the station will be done by calling the free number 1700 and bringing the telephone receiver close to the specially installed validators. The phone will emit a sound signal that will be interpreted by the validator, determining in real time whether there are valid trips in the customer's account and allowing access to the platform.

In the first stage, the service is available in the Gara de Nord, Victoriei, Universitate, Petrache Poenaru, Timpuri Noi, Grozăveşti and Politehnica stations.

More details are available by calling 1826, normal rate in the network or in Orange stores.
