The MacBook Air offers users about the same storage space as the Microsoft Surface Pro

One of the main "problems" of Microsoft Surface Pro was the fact that, for a tablet, it offers little free space for users. More precisely, although the tablets are available in versions with 64/128 GB of storage space, the operating system, plus the native applications, occupy approximately 40 GB of the space of the storage medium included in it. Because a comparison with normal tablets would have put the Microsoft product at a great disadvantage, ZDnet thought to compare it cu MacBook Air, a product it considers to be tablet-sized, mainly because it runs a desktop operating system.

In the image above you have a comparison of the storage space offered by the two products and you notice that the MacBook Air with 128 GB flash storage still offers a bit more free space than the Microsoft Surface Pro, but the difference is negligible and is not mentioned what exactly occupies that Air. Basically, when you buy Microsoft Surface Pro, you know that you lose almost 40 GB of storage space, but at least you have Windows 8 installed.
