600 million iDevices have been sold to date

During the opening keynote of WWDC 2013, Tim Cook took to the stage to announce that 600 million iDevices have been sold worldwide by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), in almost 6 years. Most of them are of course iPhone-s and we are probably talking about 350-400 million iPhones sold, the rest up to 600 million being iPad tablets and iPod Touches. Comparing it with Android OS, the figure is a third lower, but we are talking about Apple, which alone sells iDevices and several hundred manufacturers of Android terminals.

For Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), this is a real achievement and probably more than three quarters of the terminals are still active at the moment, the figure increasing by several tens of millions of units every fiscal quarter.
